SNYCO20: Legacy

This July, the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) and Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra (SNYCO) take centrestage together, since their last concert in 2019.

Titled Legacy, SNYCO and SCO’s annual concert returns, combining the best of SCO and the brilliance of young talents, to showcase their virtuosity as one. This is the third concert as part of the SNYCO20 celebration, in commemoration of SNYCO’s 20th anniversary.

Under the baton of SNYCO Associate Conductor Moses Gay, the youth orchestra will perform Wang Danhong’s Eight Tones, to kickstart the concert. SNYCO Co-concertmaster Koh Yu Jie and guzheng member Sim Kee will also showcase their virtuosity performing concertos with SCO such as The Lord of Western Qin and As Thus. The magnificent side-by-side mega orchestra of SNYCO and SCO will perform Chen Si’ang’s Endless and Peng Xiuwen’s The Terracotta Warriors Fantasia as the evening’s finale, under the baton of SNYCO Music Director Quek Ling Kiong.
